Thorsten Ingo Schmidt

Thorsten Ingo Schmidt (* 1972 in Kassel ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1992, he studied law at the University of Göttingen from 1992 to 1997 (first state examination in 1997 ). From 1997 to 1998 he had a doctoral scholarship from the University of Göttingen; Preparation of the dissertation basic duties . From 1997 to 1999 he was a research assistant at Christian Starck's chair in Göttingen. From 1998 to 2000 he was a trainee lawyer at the Kassel Regional Court , elective position at the Hessian Administrative Court (2000 second state examination). From 2000 to 2004 he wrote his habilitation thesis on communal cooperation . From 2000 to 2006 he was a research assistant at Christian Starck's chair in Göttingen. After completing his habilitation in 2004 venia legendi for the subjects of public law and European law, he was a private lecturer at the Hanover Administrative Court from 2006 to 2009 . From 2006 to 2007 he was repeatedly seconded to the Lower Saxony State Court. In 2008 he was seconded to the Northeim district . Since 2009 he has been a professor at the University of Potsdam for public law, in particular constitutional, administrative and local law. From 2015 to 2016 he was a part-time judge at the OVG Berlin-Brandenburg . Since 2015 he has been director of the Evangelical Institute for Canon Law. Since 2015 he has been the managing director of the Municipal Science Institute.
