Higher Administrative Court Berlin-Brandenburg
The Berlin-Brandenburg Higher Administrative Court is the joint Higher Administrative Court (OVG) of the states of Berlin and Brandenburg that has existed since July 1, 2005 and forms the top of the administrative jurisdiction of these two states.
Seat and District of the Court
The Berlin-Brandenburg Higher Administrative Court has its seat in Hardenbergstrasse in the Berlin district of Charlottenburg . The judicial district is the entire area of the states of Berlin and Brandenburg.

The Berlin-Brandenburg Higher Administrative Court is subordinate to the Federal Administrative Court . Subordinate courts in Berlin are the Berlin Administrative Court and the Potsdam , Frankfurt (Oder) and Cottbus administrative courts in Brandenburg .

In 1996 the plebiscite failed to merge the states of Berlin and Brandenburg into Berlin-Brandenburg . On April 26, 2004, the states of Berlin and Brandenburg signed the State Treaty on the establishment of joint specialized higher courts for the states of Berlin and Brandenburg . On July 1, 2005, the joint OVG Berlin-Brandenburg was set up in a first step alongside the joint Berlin-Brandenburg Regional Social Court . It replaces the higher administrative courts of the states of Berlin and Brandenburg, which had its seat in Frankfurt (Oder). In the second step followed on 1 January 2007, the common trade higher courts Finance Court Berlin-Brandenburg and Regional Labor Court of Berlin-Brandenburg .
President
- Jürgen Kipp was President of the OVG Berlin-Brandenburg from July 1, 2005 to December 31, 2011.
- Joachim Buchheister took over from Kipp on December 1, 2013.
