Thorsten Müller (journalist)

Thorsten Müller (born July 29, 1927 , † November 21, 1991 ) was a German journalist .

Life

At the age of 14, Thorsten Müller was expelled from school. The background to this was the allegation that it was inappropriate.

Müller had contact with the Hamburg swing youth . He belonged to the circle of the White Rose Hamburg .

In spring 1943 Müller was arrested by the Gestapo together with Bruno Himpkamp and Gerd Spitzbart . He used the bombing raids on Hamburg in July / August 1943 to escape from prison. He was arrested again in early December 1943.

Charges were brought against Müller before the People's Court . At the hearing that took place on April 19, 1945, the senior Reich lawyer applied for Thorsten Müller to be in prison for ten years . The main trial against him has been suspended. At the end of May 1945, after the British occupation troops marched in , Müller was able to leave the remand prison in Hamburg , where he was imprisoned.

Müller was committed to preserving knowledge of the resistance against National Socialism . He was a member of the Weisse Rose Foundation e. V. and passed on his knowledge of National Socialism as a contemporary witness .
