Thure Annerstedt

Thure Annerstedt . also Ture Annerstedt (born January 6, 1806 in Tensta ; † November 6, 1880 in Strängnäs ) was a Swedish Lutheran theologian and bishop . From 1852 to 1880 he was a bishop in Strängnäs .

Life

Thure Annerstedt studied at Uppsala University from 1824 and obtained a master's degree in 1830. In 1833 he received a lectureship in pastoral theology (converted to a position as adjunct in 1840) and in 1839 was awarded a Lic. Theol. and in 1845 Dr. theol. PhD. In 1846 he became senior pastor ( kyrkoherde ) in Örebro . From 1852 (introduction on June 6th) until his death he was Bishop of Strängnäs. As early as 1847 he had also become a member of the four- tier council and worked there until its dissolution in 1866, from 1862 as the deputy spokesman for the pastors. As a conservative, he opposed the introduction of the representative constitution to the end.

From 1850 Annerstedt worked in the committees that worked out a new pericope order and later a new agenda and a new catechism for the Church of Sweden . At the funeral of King Oskar I in Stockholm's Riddarholmskyrkan on August 8, 1859, he gave the funeral sermon .

family

Annerstedt's parents were the lawyer Samuel Annerstedt, son of the theology professor Daniel Annerstedt , and Baron Charlotta Ulrika Cederström, daughter of the officer Jakob Cederström . One of his brothers was the grammar school principal Rudolf Annerstedt .

Annerstedt was married to his cousin Charlotta Cederström (1812–1895) since 1835.

Awards

Was Annerstedt 1851 in the Medal North Star added. In 1860 he received the Grand Cross as commander and was also appointed bishop of the order .
