history

On the 285.3  m above sea level. NN high Schlossberg are remains of the perimeter wall of Ullenburg , a 1070 first-mentioned dialed hilltop castle . In the Ullenburg there was a castle chapel dedicated to St. Urbanus and Sebastianus, with which a chaplain dedicated to St. Urban and Sebastian was connected as a castle chapel.

1332 - The Ullenburg chapel was already mentioned in old reports and documents. The service was held by clergy from the All Saints Monastery. The chaplaincy was connected to the Ullenburg as a castle pillar.

1692 and 1699 - According to the church visit protocols, the efforts of the Tiergarten branch towards independence were already evident. But nearly 200 years passed before it was realized.

1780 - On the Allmandplatz in the center of the village - at the point where today's village church stands, at the beginning of the Schlossgasse - a wooden chapel was built in Tiergarten to replace the castle chapel that had been closed and equipped with an altar and tools.

1803 - Great political restructuring took place. The Grand Duke of Baden took possession of the former Strasbourg area. At the same time he dissolved the previous judicial districts. This gradually created new parishes as the lowest state districts, in the case of Tiergarten in 1813. From 1810, the parish of Tiergarten kept its own church register, before that church registers in Ulm.

1875 - Tiergarten separated from the parish of Ulm

On January 1, 1974, Tiergarten was incorporated into Oberkirch.

In 1987 Tiergarten was the national winner in the competition Our village should become more beautiful (see list of winners in the national competition Our village has a future ).
