biography

Tiffany Gauthier was born in Saint-Étienne and starts for the Ski Club Tignes . Before her 15th birthday, Gauthier contested her first FIS races and celebrated her first victory nine months later. In March 2010 she started in the European Cup for the first time , but had to suspend the entire following season due to an injury in April. After an arduous return, she slowly gained a foothold at FIS level and in the European Cup from 2012, where she matured to become a constant points driver. At Junior World Championships they never participated.

Gauthier made her World Cup debut on January 23, 2016 in the downhill section of Cortina d'Ampezzo . She scored points for the first time in December of the same year with 22nd place in the Super-G of Val-d'Isère . After she had also scored points in the downhill, she qualified for the World Championship in St. Moritz , where she finished 23rd and 25th in Super-G and Downhill. In the Super-G of Crans-Montana, she finished tenth in the top field for the first time. At the end of the season she was crowned French downhill champion for the first time in Tignes . In January 2018 she achieved a new personal best with a fourth place in the Super-G of Bad Kleinkirchheim , which she was able to confirm in the descent the next day. At her first Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she finished 13th and 22nd in Downhill and Super-G.

In the coming World Cup winter she could not build on these results and also came in at the World Championships in Åre over the ranks 23 and 26 in Super-G and Downhill. In February 2020 she achieved her first top 10 result in more than two years in Garmisch's Super-G and came fourth again.
