Till Sailer (born April 21, 1942 in Weimar ) is a German writer who writes fiction with a focus on musical topics.

biography

Till Sailer grew up in Weimar and studied there at the Liszt School of Music . After graduating he was an orchestral musician in Cottbus. From 1968 to 1979 he worked as a radio journalist in the cultural and educational program of Radio DDR II, Berlin, Ernste Musik. During this time he published biographical radio plays on Mozart and Schubert . He then completed additional studies at the "Johannes R. Becher" literature institute in Leipzig. He has been a freelance writer since 1980.

From 1991 to 1993 Sailer worked as a social worker for authors and was a member of the history committee of the Association of German Writers (VS) . From 1997 to 2001 he worked for local cultural planning in Beeskow . During this time he held the position of Deputy Federal Chairman of the Association of German Writers. He is chairman of the Friedrich-Bödecker-Kreis in the state of Brandenburg eV

In 2003 Sailer held the position of town clerk in Otterndorf , where he a. a. worked on his Brahms novel. In 1982 and 2004 he received a scholarship at the Künstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf .

Till Sailer is married and has two grown daughters. He lives in Bad Saarow in the state of Brandenburg.
