Till Seiler (born April 12, 1981 in Haren (Ems) ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Life and work

After graduation in 2000 in Weinstadt and community service in Waiblingen studied Seiler from 2001 at the University of Konstanz the subjects German and political science to become a teacher. From 2008 to 2009 he was a trainee lawyer at the Ellenrieder-Gymnasium in Konstanz, where he was a teacher for German, social studies and ethics until June 2011. Since November 2011 he has been at the Hegau-Gymnasium in Singen (Hohentwiel) .

Seiler has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 1999 . He has been a member of the Konstanz municipal council since 2008 . After the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2011, he moved up to the Bundestag on June 6, 2011 via the state list.

In 2011 he came under criticism from the Constance citizenship for his statement as a teacher on the subject of "annoying students": "If I were not a pacifist, I would say: shoot (is also suitable for annoying colleagues, parents, headmasters ...)", which appeared in the newspaper of his school in Konstanz. In addition, he was recognized by the CDU municipal council for his commitment against Pope Benedict XVI. criticized in the campaign "Freiburg without Pope" on the occasion of his planned visit to Freiburg im Breisgau on September 24 and 25, 2011. He boycotted the speech given by Pope Benedict XVI. held at the invitation of Bundestag President Norbert Lammert on September 22, 2011 in the German Bundestag.

On November 22, 2011, Seiler announced that he would resign from his mandate in mid-December 2011 because he would not be able to work as a professional politician. On December 3, Seiler resigned from his mandate. Members of parliament suspected that Seiler was also following his unfortunate testimony in the Konstanz newspaper.
