The Bournda National Park is a national park in the southeast of the Australian state of New South Wales . The 2,600-acre park was established on April 24, 1992 and is administered by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service . It is located 345 km south of Sydney near the coastal town of Tathra . It extends from Kianinny Bay south of Tathra about eight miles south. There is a nice hiking trail there, most of which runs along the coast.

There are two lakes and a lagoon in the park. The Wallagoot Lake is a large saltwater lake, which was connected in June 2008 with the ocean. The Bondi Lake is of particular ecological importance because it is the closest oceanfront freshwater lake in the region. The Bournda Lagoon is a brackish water lagoon that is connected to the ocean at regular intervals. The lagoon is a popular swimming area for locals and tourists.

The park was initially a State Recreation Area from 1947 and was declared a national park in 1992. Adjacent to the national park is the 6,088 hectare Bournda Nature Reserve , which was established in 1972. Both areas are considered in the management plan.

There are good camping spots at the Hobart Beach campsite .
