The Crowdy Bay National Park is a national park in north-eastern Australian state of New South Wales , 271 kilometers north-east of Sydney and 30 kilometers northeast of Taree .
The park stretches from Dunbogan and Laurieton in the north to Crowdy Head and Harrington in the south. It protects wide beaches and the heathland behind them. One of the greatest scenic attractions is Diamond Head , a headland.
In 1818 the area was discovered by John Oxley . In the park, visitors could visit the hut where the Australian writer and playwright Kylie Tennant lived for a while. In November 2019, the hut was destroyed by devastating bush fires .
