The Nattai National Park ( English Nattai National Park ) is a 489 km² national park in New South Wales , Australia , about 100 km southwest of Sydney . It is located in the area of the Blue Mountains , which was declared a World Heritage Site in 2000 , and connects there immediately to the south-west of the Blue Mountains National Park . The nearest town is Camden approximately 15 km northeast. From here the park can be reached via an unpaved road that is suitable for normal road vehicles.

The Nattai National Park was founded in 1991 to preserve the pristine landscape on both sides of the Nattai River with its impressive sandstone cliffs . It is also located in the catchment area of Lake Burragorang , an important reservoir for the drinking water supply of Sydney.

Geologically, the park is part of the Sydney Basin . It is dominated by Hawkesbury sandstone cliffs, beneath which lies shale , fine-grain sandstone and finally the Illawarra coal layer. There are extensive forest areas, mainly made of hard-leaved eucalyptus , in more humid niches along the edge of the break there are also smaller areas with rainforest . The varied flora is home to a multitude of animals, including the endangered golden tree frogs , brown-headed cockatoos , brush-tailed rock kangaroos , giant sacred martens , yellow-bellied gliding sacs and koalas .

There are no visitor facilities apart from a rest area at Wollondilly Lookout , but bush camping is permitted anywhere in the park, with the exception of a 3 km wide strip around Lake Burragorang.
