The Mount Imlay National Park is a national park in the far southeast of the Australian state of New South Wales , 387 kilometers south of Sydney . It was named after the Imlay brothers , early pioneers in the area. The access is from the east via a spur road from Princes Highway south of Eden .
The park is mainly overgrown with eucalyptus forest. The most important species are the Imlay Mallee and the Imlay Boronia (Boronia imlayensis). They grow in the regions of Mount Imlay near the summit . But there are also two hectares of cool, temperate rainforest that survived in a narrow valley protected from forest fires. It consists mainly of Black Olive Berry trees (Elaeocarpus holopetalus).
