The Goobang National Park is a national park in the center of the Australian state of New South Wales , 296 km north-west of Sydney . It protects the largest remaining forest in the center of the state, where the inland and coastal flora of New South Wales merge.

The area was named by John Oxley Hervey Range in 1817 , and in 1897 it was declared a state forest for its importance as a source of lumber. In 1995 it was rededicated to a national park.

The main roads in the park, all of which are unpaved, are usually driven by normal road vehicles. However, after prolonged rainfall they can become very slippery.
