The Yuraygir National Park is a national park in north-eastern Australian state of New South Wales , 523 km north of Sydney and 35 km east of Grafton .
The national park stretches from the mouth of the Clarence River in the north to the Corindi River in the south. The 60km coastline is the longest stretch of coast in New South Wales that is still in its natural state. It is made up of cliffs, rocky headlands, deserted beaches, and estuaries. Inland there are forests, heathlands, swamps and lagoons. There is a warm, subtropical climate with an annual rainfall of 1250 mm, most of which falls in the summer months. Temperatures are around 20–26 ° C in January and 9–20 ° C in June.
The Yuraygir National Park was created in 1980 from the amalgamation of the Angourie National Park and the Red Rock National Park with some afforested, previously agricultural areas. The original land owners were the Aboriginesstämme the Gumbaingirr and Yaegl .
