The Mount Nothofagus National Park is a national park in the far northeast of the Australian state of New South Wales , 634 kilometers north of Sydney , 65 kilometers east of Warwick and 75 kilometers northwest of Lismore . On the northern edge of Mount Nothofagus National Park, on the border with Queensland , the Mount Barney National Park connects , in the southwest of the Mount Clunie National Park and in the east of the Border Ranges National Park . The closest place is Lindesay Creek in the south of the park on the stream of the same name, which has its source in the national park.
The park, or the mountain there, is named after the false beeches ( Nothofagus ) that occur there . There is also Gondwana rainforests , as since 1986 the UNESCO - World Heritage apply and are listed in the Australian list of natural monuments since of 2007.
