The Livingstone National Park is a national park in the southern Australian state of New South Wales , 30 kilometers south of Wagga Wagga and ten kilometers east of the town Mangoplah in the Riverina .

Originally, today's national park was declared a State Forest in 1915 because of the wood it contained, which was to be preserved for the city of Junee . From the railway line from Mangoplah to Westby , a branch for timber transport was laid near the state forest, but was later dismantled. A report from the New South Wales Forestry Commission mentioned that this forest was the only one of its kind, and it was later found that the forest also contained a colony of Squirrel Glider (Petaurus norfolcensis), of which only two remain in the southern one New South Wales existed. Three species of orchids and over 100 native bird species were also found.

In 1976, the Wagga Wildlife and Conservation Society requested that the state forest be rededicated as an endangered area into a national park, but was unsuccessful. Only in January 2001 was the state forest with an area of 1919 hectares declared a national park.

The national park has four types of vegetation, for example grass trees , mallee (Eucalyptus dissita), kangaroo grass (Themada trianda) and open forest.
