The Karuah National Park is a national park in eastern Australian state of New South Wales , 153 km north-east of Sydney and 35 km north of Newcastle . It was created in July 2007 from the state-owned Karuah Nature Reserve .

The national park consists of one larger and five smaller sub-areas near Little Swan Bay . There are eucalyptus forests protected, in particular Corymbia makulata , Eucalyptus Corymbia and Eucalyptus blakella . At Deep Creek and the Karuah River , there are mangroves . Wallabies , koalas and kangaroos can be found in the forests .
