The Murray Valley National Park is a national park in the south of the Australian state of New South Wales , about 35 kilometers south of Deniliquin .

The park in the Riverina region consists of various, not completely contiguous former state forests on the north bank of the Murray River . It was created in July 2010 from the merging of the Barooga State Forest , the Boomanoomana State Forest , the Curowa State Forest , the Cottadidda State Forest , the Native Dog State Forest , the Niemur State Forest , the Noorong State Forest , the Tholobin State Forest , the Thornley State Forest , Tuppal State Fores , Wetuppa State Forest , Whymoul State Forest, and Woperana State Forest . In addition there were parts of the Gulpa Island State Forest , the Millewa State Forest and the Moira State Forest . South of the river, in Victoria, is the Barmah National Park .

The national park, which stretches about 150 kilometers along the river, has a total area of ​​41,601 hectares and is administered by the National Parks and Wildlife Service . The forests consist mainly of River Red Gum ( Eucalyptus camaldulensis ). Parts of the park are Ramsar protected areas .
