The Booti Booti National Park is a national park in north-eastern Australian state of New South Wales , 282 km north-east of Sydney and 10 km south of Forster .
The first European resident of the area was Captain J. Gogerly , who sailed from Forster to Sydney with timber loads . He and some of his family members are buried in the park area.
On September 30, 1977 the area of today's park became the State Recreation Area and in 1992 it was rededicated as a national park.
