Tim Berendonk

Tim Berendonk (* 1981 in Kleve ) is a German journalist and works as a moderator , reporter and author . He gained fame through his work for NDR television , especially for the NDR knowledge magazine plietsch , expeditions into the animal kingdom and tagesschau24 . I.a. he worked for the NDR broadcasts Hamburg Journal , Rund um den Michel , Nordtour and Mein Afternoon .

Professional career

In 2004, while still studying Catholic theology and German studies in Cologne , Tim Berendonk started at the radio station Radio Erft in Wesseling with on-air presentations of news and weather and first journalistic articles. At the same time he worked as a freelancer for NDR2 in Hamburg . There followed in 2009 the journalistic traineeship for television, radio and online at Norddeutscher Rundfunk . Since 2010 he has been working as a freelance television presenter, reporter and author. Since 2012 he has also moderated the children's radio program Mikado on NDRinfo on a regular basis . He has been moderating the news on tagesschau24 since February 5, 2019 . On June 15, 2019, he spoke his first ARD Tagesschau . In April 2020, Tim Berendonk joined the local time OWL at Westdeutscher Rundfunk as a presenter.

Prizes and awards

  • Awarded the NDR television prize "Sehstern (Special Prize)" 2010 and "Award for outstanding performance" from the Axel Springer Academy , Berlin 2010, for the trimedial project "Grenzgänger"
  • Heinz Sielmann Prize 2014 for expeditions into the animal kingdom "The return of the predators"
