Tim Harford (2012)

Tim Douglas Harford (born September 27, 1973 in Kent ) is a British economist and journalist . He is the author of the bestseller The Undercover Economist , (dt. Ökonomics ) of nearly a million were sold times translated into 30 languages and worldwide.

Life

Harford is a columnist for the Financial Times and also writes for other magazines and newspapers such as The Atlantic , Esquire , Forbes Magazine , Wired , New York Magazine , The Guardian , London Times , Washington Post and New York Times . He also presents TV and radio programs for the BBC and other programs.

Harford previously worked for Royal Dutch Shell and the World Bank . He is a Visiting Fellow at Nuffield College and Cass Business School . He lives in London with his wife and two daughters.

In 2010 he was awarded by the Royal Statistical Society for presenting statistical methods in his books in a generally understandable manner.
