Timo Salzer (born January 21, 1984 in Bietigheim-Bissingen ) is a German handball player . He has been playing for the second division SG Bietigheim-Metterzimmer since the 2012/13 season .

Salzer began his career at the CVJM Möglingen. He moved to TSV Asperg early on, and then via VfL Waiblingen to TV Kornwestheim in the 2nd handball league . In 2006 Salzer then moved to HSG Wetzlar in the handball Bundesliga . At the beginning of the 2012/13 season he went to SG Bietigheim-Metterzimmer. He was promoted to the Bundesliga with SG BBM in 2014. A year later he went into the second class with SG BBM. From summer 2016 he will be the player-coach of the 2nd team of SG BBM.

Timo Salzer played eleven games for the German national team . He played 38 international matches for the national junior team and 25 for the national youth team.

Salzer's younger brother Thorsten (* 1986) also played for the SG Bietigheim-Metterzimmer until summer 2014.

successes

In 2004 Salzer won the European title with the German national junior team. A year earlier he was runner-up in the German youth team.
