Timon Saatmann

Timon Saatmann (born July 6, 1973 in Dortmund ) is a German journalist and reporter . Since December 2012 he has been a freelance reporter, journalist, TV producer and consultant.

Career

Saatmann began working as a freelancer for Ruhr Nachrichten in Dortmund in 1991 . In addition, he made his Abitur at the city high school in Dortmund in 1993. From April 1, 1995, he did an internship at Media Sportservice West. Two years later, on the same day, Saatmann was promoted to editor there. In this role, Timon Saatmann was responsible for reporting on the football league , the regional football league , the 2nd Bundesliga and the Bundesliga in tabloid media , press agencies , daily and specialist newspapers , teletext and radio . The production of stadium newspapers for around 50 clubs from the upper to the Bundesliga was also his job. Saatmann's activities also included public relations work for amateur clubs and harness racing tracks and setting up reporting on the Internet .

In 1998, Timon Saatmann moved to the RTL Group as a sports editor in the “News am Morgen” editorial team, which produces the RTL early magazines “Punkt 6”, “Punkt 7” and “Punkt 9”. From the year 2000 he was responsible for the sport in these programs as CvD (chief of duty). He also worked as an editor and reporter for all other news formats at RTL.

Saatmann went to the ProSiebenSat.1 Group in 2006 , where he became head of sports at the news channel N24 . Born in Dortmund, he was responsible for sports on N24 as well as in the news broadcasts on Sat.1 , ProSieben and Kabel 1 . His editorial team produced the UEFA Cup on Sat.1 from 2006 to 2009 and the Tour de France on Sat.1 2007. Saatmann commented on the Tour de France live and was, among other things, field reporter for live broadcasts of the UEFA Cup on Sat. .1.

After working for the ProSiebenSat.1 Group, Saatmann returned to Cologne in 2010 and became editor-in-chief at Sport-Informations-Dienst (SID). There he founded the SID sports journalism school and introduced video production. Saatmann joined the news agency dapd as deputy editor-in-chief in 2012 and left the sport. He was responsible for the video production and also worked as a news manager and in training. Due to the insolvency of dapd, Saatmann was released from work together with 97 colleagues in November 2012. Since then he has worked as a freelance journalist, reporter, video producer and consultant.
