Tina Rothämel , née Tina Eggert , from 2005 Tina Menz (born August 24, 1988 in Berlin ) is a former German national basketball player .

Career

Tina Menz started her career at SV Halle in 2001 and became German champion and runner-up with SV Halle. Contrary to other statements, she was never a player in the women's team of the Halle Lions. In 2003 she moved to Jena and attended the sports high school there. In Jena she played together with her mother and sister in the local second division team . She gained first division experience in her last season with Jena (2007/08) at first division club ChemCats Chemnitz , where she played with a double license .

After graduating from high school , in 2008 she moved to the Eisvögeln in Freiburg , where she studied event management at the Angell Academy . Two years later she left Germany for England and scored her points for the English first division club Leeds Carnegie . With Leeds Carnegie, she won the 2011 Student Championships and was named MVP (Most Valuable Player). On July 15, 2010, she had her first appearance in the senior team in the game against Turkey. In 2011 she left England and joined the German first division club BC Marburg . Since 2011 she has been used in the national team as a starting point guard . Tina Menz has been the captain of the women's national team since 2013. After the second season with BC Marburg 2012/13 Tina Menz returned to her hometown Jena and has since played again for the ChemCats Chemnitz.

After the 2014/15 season, she first announced her retirement from active basketball and no longer played for the national team. When the Chemcats were in dire need of relegation in the 2015/16 season, Tina Menz returned once more. After Chemnitz had only won one of nine games, the second win against Osnabrück was achieved in the first game with Tina Menz (November 14, 2015, 94-83). The ChemCats finished the season in 10th place and managed to stay in the league thanks to Tina Menz's very good performance. She then ended her active career again. During her last two years at the Chemcats, Tina Rothämel was already working full-time as an event manager at Messe Chemnitz , where she works as a project manager.
