Tintin Sélection

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tintin Sélection is a special paperback edition of the comic magazine Tintin published between 1968 and 1978 .

background

Publishing the comic magazine Tintin as a paperback in the sense of an almanac was first tried in 1955 under the title Sélection Tintin 1955 . It was only 13 years later that it became an independent publication. This gave the copywriters and draftsmen the opportunity to publish their comics in the form of short stories. Illustrated narratives and longer stories followed later. Editorial contributions and games rounded off the respective editions.

From November 1968 through February 1978 a total of 38 issues were published quarterly. The pocket book format was 12 cm × 19 cm. The first 20 issues came out as Tintin Sélection . Then 17 issues followed under the new name Tintin Pocket Sélection . The number of pages from 1968 to 1969 was 260 pages, dropped to 196 pages in 1970 and was shortened to 164 pages in 1974.
