Titular bishopric Strumnitza

Strumnitza ( Italian : Strumnizza ) was a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .

history

The titular diocese Strumnitza went back to the former diocese of the city of Strumica in today's Republic of Macedonia and belonged to the ecclesiastical province of Thessalonica . In 1933, the historic bishopric was rebuilt as a titular seat and was first awarded in 1970.

On October 31, 2018, the titular diocese of Strumnitza was abolished by Pope Francis after an ordinary bishopric was established in May of the same year with the Eparchy of the Annunciation Strumica-Skopje .
