Tjark Nagel (born October 12, 1952 in Friedrichskoog , Dithmarschen district ) is a former German show jumper, also known as the Teufelsreiter .

Career

In 1992 he was a substitute rider for the German team at the Olympic Games in Barcelona with Leroy Brown . In the same year he finished 14th in the World Cup final in Del Mar, California .

In 1993 at a horse show in Modena , Italy , at which Nagel won the Nations Cup in a team with Ludger Beerbaum , Franke Sloothaak and Holger Hetzel , his Olympic horse Leroy Brown tested positive for isoxoprine. Nagel denied having anything to do with it. In autumn 1998 he was acquitted of doping charges after a five-year trial. Both the ban and the fine were lifted, but his horse remained banned.

In 2005 he won his last Nations Cup in Copenhagen . There he worked for the first time in 2011 as head of the team for a German team at Nations Cups.

Since 2007, Nagel has been working as a trainer and coordinator of Paul Schockemöhle's young horses , as well as the trainer of the show jumper Dirk Ahlmann .

Private

His son is the show jumper Björn Nagel . His cousin Carsten-Otto Nagel is also a show jumper.
