Tobias Frank

Tobias Frank (born April 5, 1958 in Worms ) is a former German hockey player and two-time silver medalist at the Olympic Games.
Career
In 1979 Tobias Frank moved from Schott Mainz to RK Rüsselsheim and was then the goalkeeper of Rüsselsheim for ten years.
In 1979 he made his debut in the German national hockey team . His first major success was winning the European Indoor Championships in 1980 . At the World Cup 1981/1982 in Bombay , the German team reached the final and lost to the Pakistani selection 1: 3. In 1984 he went to the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles as the second goalkeeper alongside Christian Bassemir , where he was used in five games. In the final, the German team faced the Pakistani team again. After regular time ended 1-1, Pakistan made it 2-1 in extra time.
At the 1986 World Cup , Frank took third place with the German team, and in 1986, 1987 and 1988 he was part of the winning German squad at the Champions Trophy . In 1988 Frank won again at the European Indoor Championships after 1980 . Frank and Christian Schliemann were the two goalkeepers in the German squad for the Olympic Games in Seoul , where Frank was again used in five games. Frank was also in goal in the final when the German team lost 3-1 to the United Kingdom .
Tobias Frank played a total of 113 international matches from 1979 to 1989, 35 of them indoors.
