Tobias Friedli

Tobias Friedli (born December 19, 1978 in Zurich ) is a Swiss jazz musician ( drums ).

Live and act

Friedli received his first drum lessons at the age of ten. Between 1999 and 2003 he studied at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern. From 2003 to 2015 he was the drummer in the Swiss Jazz Orchestra , with which he released several records. Also from 2003 to 2015 he formed the trio BucherSommerFriedli with guitarist Michael Bucher and bassist Patrick Sommer (for two albums reinforced by keyboardist Stefan Aeby ); he also played with Guinea Pig ( Kool Kats ) and the Blue Goat Quartet ( Hight Tide with Franck Tortiller ) and with Till Grünewalds Phonosource ( Awakened ). He is currently part of the Nicole Herzog & Stewy von Wattenwyl Group ( Porgy & Bess ) and the Houry Dora Apartians Band, as well as the Roman Tulei Trio ( The Road ) and Marcel Thomi's Xmas Songs . He can also be heard on albums by Peter Zihlmann , Martin Streule , Quincy Jones ( The 75th Birthday Celebration ), the Lucerne Jazz Orchestra & Hayden Chisholm and the Hagenlocher-Schürmann Quartet.
