Tobias Reiser

Tobias Reiser ( the younger ; born December 2, 1946 in Salzburg ; † December 18, 1999 ) was an Austrian folk song researcher and musician .

Tobias Reiser followed in the footsteps of his father Tobi Reiser .

Tobias played a second guitar in the ensemble founded by his father in 1953, the Tobi Reiser Quintet , originally in the line-up of zither , dulcimer , harp , guitar and double bass . After his death in 1974, the Tobi Reiser Ensemble appeared as a sextet or as Tobi Reiser violin music with two additional violins and a flute . This set of instruments became the model for many alpine music groups. The Tobi Reiser Ensemble produced numerous recordings and appeared on radio and television.

Tobias Reiser also took over the management of the Salzburg Advent Singing . Under Reiser's direction it advanced from a popular Christmas play to a great oratorio, which over time presented increasingly complex processing of the Christmas story.

In addition, Tobias Reiser, also succeeding his father, was managing director from 1974 to 1999 and deputy chairman from 1974 to 1989, and from 1989 to 1999 chairman of the Salzburger Heimatwerk , an institution for the maintenance of the Salzburg folk culture.

Reiser died shortly after the premiere of his last project Då håt vor dem Ståll der Äpfibam bliaht in his Salzburg house of the consequences of a gastric rupture .
