Todd Anthony Bell (* 28. November 1958 in Middletown , Ohio ; † 16th March 2005 in Reynoldsburg , Ohio) was an American American football player at the position of the safeties and linebackers . He played for the Chicago Bears and the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League (NFL).

School time and college

Todd Bell first played football in his hometown at Middletown High School before moving to Ohio State University and playing on the college football team there , the "Buckeyes" as a defensive back . One of his greatest accomplishments was a winning touchdown against arch-rivals at the University of Michigan .

NFL

In 1981, Bell was selected by the Chicago Bears in the fourth round of the NFL Draft . From 1981 to 1984 as well as 1986 and 1987 he played for the Bears in the National Football League (NFL). In 1988 and 1989 he was there for the Philadelphia Eagles in action.

Todd Bell made a total of 103 appearances in the regular season , 62 of which he was a starter. He died at the age of 47 after a heart attack .
