Todd Boekelheide

Todd Boekelheide (born before 1974) is an American sound engineer and film composer .

Life

Boekelheide began his career in 1974 as an employee at Francis Ford Coppola's production company American Zoetrope in San Francisco . In 1976 he quit and worked as an assistant editor on Star Wars . He worked on the cut one last time on The Black Stallion .

After studying music at Mills College in Oakland , he specialized as a sound mixer and was nominated for the first time in 1984 for an Oscar in the category Best Sound for When the Wolves Howl . The following year he received the award for Amadeus .

He has also worked as a film composer since the mid-1980s. Mainly he wrote music for documentaries , but also for feature films like Die Jugger - Kampf der Beste and Wie ein Vogel im Wind . He was nominated three times for the Emmy for his compositions for television productions , in 1999 he received the award for the music for the documentary Kids of Survival . He was also nominated in 1993 for the Genie Award and in 1994 for the CableACE Award .
