Tom Clancy's EndWar is a real-time strategy game developed by Ubisoft Shanghai . It was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in late 2008 . A Windows implementation followed in February 2009 . Parallel to the console releases, versions for the mobile consoles Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable appeared . These were developed by Funatics and belong to the turn-based strategy genre . The scenario comes from the novelist Tom Clancy . It deals with a fictional third world war between Europe , the USA and Russia .
action
The action of the game begins in 2016 when a nuclear war in Saudi Arabia kills 20 million people and raises the price of oil to $ 800 a barrel. A year later, the US and Europe set up an orbital missile defense system , which should prevent such wars in the future. In the same year, the EU also merges to form the European Federation. Russia now has the world's largest oil and natural gas reserves and is investing billions in the largest armament since the Cold War.
