Tom Stohn (born December 21, 1968 in Pirna ) is a former German soccer player and today's soccer coach.

Athletic career

Tom Stohn comes from the youth department at BSG Wismut Pirna-Copitz . His talent was not enough for the youth teams of Dynamo Dresden , the result was a move to BSG Progress Bischofswerda , for which Stohn played nine more games in the GDR league . In 1991 he moved to FC Wismut Aue for one season , after which he was hired by the second division club SV Waldhof Mannheim .

In the following years Stohn commuted at SV Wehen , the second team of TSV 1860 Munich and Kickers Offenbach between the second Bundesliga and the Oberliga , before ending his active career with the Saxon national league club VfL Pirna-Copitz in the 2003/04 season .

Since December 2005, Stohn has worked as an assistant trainer at Dynamo Dresden . After the resignation of head coach Peter Pacult , he was briefly interim coach of the Saxons, but moved back to the post of assistant coach after the engagement of Norbert Meier . After Norbert Meier's dismissal in September 2007, he was no longer considered after the engagement of Eduard Geyer in Dresden and was replaced by Jan Seifert . Then Stohn was employed as a scout for Dynamo Dresden .

In the summer of 2011, Peter Pacult brought him to RB Leipzig as an assistant coach . After his release in June 2012, Stohn also had to leave.
