Thomas "Tom" Williamson (born December 24, 1984 in Leicester ) is a former English football player .

Career

Williamson played in the youth division of Leicester City since he was nine and made his Premier League debut in the 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur on the last day of the 2001/02 season , when the club had already been relegated . A substitute for Muzzy İzzet in stoppage time from coach Micky Adams , Williamson remained out of contact with the ball until the final whistle. This was also his only competitive game for the professional team, in the summer of 2004 Williamson was one of 13 Leicester players who did not receive a new contract.

Williamson then continued his career in non-league football , first from October 2004 at Canvey Island FC in the Football Conference , in July 2005 he switched to league rivals Grays Athletic . With Gray's Athletic, the midfielder won the FA Trophy in May 2006 , in the 2-0 final win against FC Woking he was substituted on for Michael Kightly in stoppage time. After 32 league appearances in two years, his contract was dissolved in August 2007 and Williamson found a new club with Bishop's Stortford in the sixth class Conference South . There he played for a season before he was brought in 2008 by Frank Gray , his former coach at Gray's Athletic, to league rivals Basingstoke Town . At Basingstoke Williamson was a regular player the following years and completed a total of 100 competitive games. In February 2011, he left Basingstoke to go to Australia for a year .

For English junior teams he played in the age groups U-15 (used in the Victory Shield against Wales) and U-18.
