Tomáš Macháč (born October 13, 2000 in Beroun ) is a Czech tennis player .

Career

Tomáš Macháč has been playing tennis since he was 5 and his preferred surface is hard court . On the junior tour he took part in all four Grand Slam tournaments , but only reached the second round at the US Open . In January 2018 he reached his career best with the 16th place.

On the professional tour he has been playing tournaments of the Future and Challenger Tour regularly since 2018 . In his first season he won three individual titles on the Future Tour. On his debut on the higher-endowed Challenger Tour in Ostrava , he made it straight to the quarter-finals and beat two top 200 players. By two Halbfinaleinzüge in Liberec and only Sultan and another Futures title he improved steadily in the world rankings and finished the year ranked 357 in the world. In February 2020, he became the first teenager of 2020 to win his first Challenger tournament in Koblenz . Only in the final against Botic van de Zandschulp did he make a sentence. Through this success he reached a new career high with 251st place.
