Tomas Pačėsas
Tomas Pačėsas (born November 11, 1971 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian basketball coach, manager , sports official and former basketball player (1994-2007).
Life
Pačėsas was born in Kaunas. In childhood he lived in Alytus with his family . His father played volleyball and his mother was the water diver . From the 4th grade he attended swimming in the Alytus swimming pool . Pačėsas collected a lot of medals and certificates during his seven-year sports career as a swimmer . When he was thirteen, he took part in adult swimming competitions. At the Druzhba tournament of the former Soviet Union , he won third place among adults in freestyle swimming at a distance of 1500 meters. His coach was Viktoras Janavičius.
Pačėsas started playing basketball at the age of 14. After graduating from Alytus Second Middle School, he studied in Kaunas . At Kauno technologijos universitetas , he completed his bachelor's degree in management and coaching courses at the Gdańsk Sports Academy in Poland in 2003 .
Pačėsas played at Asseco Prokom Gdynia and then in 2007 he became the coaching assistant of the head coach Eugeniusz Kijewski and later head coach.
From 2009 he was the owner of the regional broadcaster VšĮ "Alytaus regioninė televizija". From 2012 to 2015 he was executive director of VTB United League . He is the founder of the " Dzūkija " basketball club in Alytus.
In 2015 his family name was in the election list of Visuomeninis rinkimų komitetas "Už Alytų" in the local elections in Lithuania in 2015 .

Pačėsas is married. He and his wife Laima Pačėsienė have a daughter Rūta and a son Tomas, who also plays basketball.
