Tomáš Tomek (born July 10, 1988 in Skalica , Slovakia ) is a Slovak ice hockey goalkeeper who has been playing for MsHK Žilina in the Slovakian extra league since the 2015/16 season .

Career

Tomáš Tomek learned to play ice hockey in his hometown Skalica. He went through all the youth departments of the local HK 36 Skalica , where he stood between the posts until the 2007/08 season. During the 2005/06 and 2006/07 seasons, however, it was temporarily awarded to HC Dukla Senica . In the 2008/09 season Tomek came to his first professional missions, which he completed at HK Nové Zámky and at ŠHK 37 Piešťany in the first division . He also completed these two stations on loan.

In the 2009/10 season Tomek ran twice for the first team of his home club HK 36 Skalica in the Slovak Extraliga , but spent most of the time at ŠHK 37 Piešťany in the 1st division, where he was loaned out. The following year a similar situation arose, with he now stood between the posts in Skalica for three games.

These seasons were followed by a final change to the ŠHK 37 Piešťany, which made his Extraliga debut this season, where Tomek was now used as the goalkeeper. During these two seasons 2012/13 and 2013/14 Tomek completed a total of 114 competitive games for Piešťany. In the 2012/13 season Tomek was the goalkeeper with the best save rate (93.2%) in the Slovak first division. He was also represented in the All-Star Team of the Slovak Extra League.

For the 2014/15 season he switched to the EBEL to Orli Znojmo , which he left after only eight games in December 2014 to switch directly to SC Riessersee in the DEL2 , where he replaced the injured Jochen Vollmer at short notice . After the 2014/15 season , however, his contract in Garmisch-Partenkirchen was not extended. Then Tomek moved back to his native Slovakia. In the extra league there he has been guarding the gate for MsHK Žilina since the 2015/16 season .
