Tommaso Ghirelli (born August 2, 1944 in Forlì , Forlì-Cesena Province , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Imola .

Life

Tommaso Ghirelli received on 29 June 1969, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On October 18, 2002, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Imola. The Archbishop of Bologna , Giacomo Cardinal Biffi , donated him episcopal ordination on November 30th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Forlì-Bertinoro , Vincenzo Zarri , and the Bishop Emeritus of Imola, Giuseppe Fabiani . The inauguration took place on December 15, 2002.

Pope Francis accepted his resignation as Bishop of Imola on May 31, 2019, shortly before reaching the age limit for bishops.
