Tommy Karevik (born November 1, 1981 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish metal singer who became known as the lead singer of the progressive metal band Seventh Wonder . On June 22nd, 2012 he joined the band Kamelot as the new singer.

Tommy Karevik was born on November 1st, 1981 in Stockholm. After school he trained as a firefighter and worked in this profession for many years.

After he and his friend Johan Larsson wrote Swedish pop songs more for fun, he sang a few songs for the band Vindictive for their demo. In 2005 he joined Seventh Wonder as a singer shortly after they released their debut album, Become . After Tommy joined the band, they toured for a short time to promote the album.

The band then went back to the studio to record new material with their new singer. The result was the album Waiting in the Wings , which was released in 2006. The album received very positive reviews. Since then, Karevik's expressive vocals have become one of the hallmarks of Seventh Wonder. In 2008 the band released their concept album Mercy Falls . The Great Escape followed in 2010 .

Tommy Karevik was a guest singer in 2010 on the song Stare Into My Eyes by PelleK, which appeared on the EP My Demons in 2010 and on the album Bag of Tricks in 2012 .

In 2010 Tommy Karevik appeared for the first time as a guest singer for the American melodic metal band Kamelot at the ProgPower Festival in the USA. In 2011 a European tour followed with the band as a guest singer. Since her previous singer Roy Khan first dropped out due to illness and then left the band entirely, Fabio Lione ( Rhapsody of Fire ) stepped in as a replacement. Tommy Karevik mainly sang the backing vocals on the tour, but took over the mic from Fabio Lione for one song each evening. He sang Center Of The Universe , Eden Echo , Soul Society , The Human Stain and When The Lights Are Down , among others .

On June 22, 2012 it was announced that Karevik had been selected as the lead singer for Kamelot. In the summer he performed with the band for the first time at some festivals, including the Wacken Open Air . Shortly afterwards the extensive world tour for the album “Silverthorn”, which will be released in October 2012, began. The album is a concept album. Tommy Karevik is primarily responsible for the vocal melodies and lyrics on the album, but also helped develop the story for the concept album.

In 2013, Tommy Karevik was a guest singer on Ayreon's album The Theory of Everything .

In June 2019, Karevik announced his engagement to Canadian singer and songwriter Kobra Paige .

Tommy Karevik's influences include Queen , Russell Allen , Andrew Lloyd Webber , Ronnie James Dio , and Jørn Lande .
