Tomo Morimoto ( Japanese 森 本 友 Morimoto Tomo ; born December 27, 1983 in Shisō , Hyōgo Prefecture ) is a former Japanese marathon runner .

In 2004 she was tenth in the San'yō Road Run. In 2006 she finished fifth in the Osaka Women's Marathon in 2:27:46 h on her debut over this distance. She won the Vienna City Marathon in 2:24:33 and stayed just above the course record. In 2007 she was twelfth in Osaka and could not compete again in Vienna due to an injury.

The following year she finished second in Osaka as the best Japanese woman in 2:25:34, but had to give way to Yurika Nakamura in the selection for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . Instead, she started again in Vienna and came second there.

In 2009 she was eighth in the London Marathon , in 2010 third in the Berlin Marathon , and in 2011 she won the Hokkaidō Marathon . In April 2012 she resigned from competitive sports.

Tomo Morimoto is 1.64 m tall, weighs 53 kg and started for the company team at the Tenmaya department store.
