The Tonsina River is an approx. 100 km long right tributary of the Copper River in the south of Alaska (USA).

It rises from the Tonsina Glacier on the northern flank of the Chugach Mountains , flows northeastward, flows through Tonsina Lake and flows around 17 km northwest of Chitina into the Copper River, which flows into the Gulf of Alaska .
