Topshelf Records is an American independent record company founded in 2006 in Peabody , Massachusetts .

history

The Topshelf Records label was founded in 2006 in Peabody , Massachusetts . The record company was founded by Kevin Duquette, Dan Sullivan and Seth Decoteau. Duquette and Decoteau were playing together in a band at the time and hoped that the label would make it more popular. They were inspired by Brett Gurewitz from Bad Religion , who founded Epitaph Records , and from The Kids Table , who founded their label Fork In Hand . Decoteau now works full time at Bridge 9 Records .

The label worked with artists such as Braid , Into It. Over It. And You Blew It! together and has a pioneering role in the indie rock- influenced emo revival wave. In January 2015 the label moved to San Diego .
