The gate helmet is a 2452 m above sea level. A. high mountain between Zillergrund , Gerlostal and its side valley Schwarzachgrund in the Zillertal Alps ( Tyrol , Austria ).
The Torhelm is located in the immediate vicinity of the 2700 meter high Brandberger Kolm and is connected to it by the Brandberger Joch at 2307 m altitude.
The main ascent to the Torhelm takes about 1½ hours from the Kolmhaus , so that the summit can be reached in just under 4 hours from Brandberg . The Torhelm can be reached in around 3 hours from the mountain station of the Gerlosstein cable car. Hiking trails also lead up from Gasthof Kühle Rast in Gerlostal and from Untere Schwarzachalm in Schwarzachtal.
