The Brandberger Kolm is a 2700 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the western part of the Gerlos group , a subgroup of the Zillertal Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol . The Kolm has seen from the west in the form of a rocky cone of the Zillergrund in Brandenberg dominated . Due to its easy accessibility, it is a vantage point that is often climbed from the Kolmhaus , at an altitude of 1845 meters.
Surroundings
The Brandberger Kolm is at the western end of the Gerlos group. Neighboring mountains are located in the north, separated by the Brandberger Joch , at an altitude of 2307 meters, the 2452 meter high Torhelm , in the northwest the Gerlossteinwand (2166 m), in the southeast the 2666 meter high Gamskopf and in the further course of the pronounced southeast ridge Äußerer and Innerer Falk (2669 m). To the southwest, the area drops to the Zillergrund near Brandberg, which is about 5 kilometers to the west as the crow flies . Mayrhofen in the Zillertal is a good 7 km to the west.
Development
According to literature, the Kolm can be reached from the Kolmhaus, which is located east of Brandberg, in about 2 hours on a hiking trail. It leads in an easterly direction over the southern flank of the mountain up to the summit cross . An alpine crossing, first documented in 1929, leads over a notch in a south-easterly direction over to the Gamskopf with the UIAA I level of difficulty .
