The Tour d'Aï is a 2331 meter high mountain north above Leysin in the Swiss canton of Vaud . The neighboring mountain in the northeast is the Tour de Mayen with an altitude of 2326 meters. A hiking trail and various climbing routes lead to the top of the Tour d'Aï .
Development and ascent
From Leysin, a cable car leads up to the Berneuse (2045 m). From there the Tour d'Aï can be reached via Lac d'Aï (1890 m) and a partially exposed ascent over the southeast ridge. The way to the summit is partially insured with railings and ladders and requires surefootedness and a head for heights. The walking time from the mountain station to the summit is around three hours.
There is also the possibility of climbing the mountain via a via ferrata on the west face within about two hours. To reach the entry point at 2190 m you have to choose a narrow path from the Berneuse across the scree to the northwest. The end is just below the summit cross . The via ferrata has the difficulty level K4.
