Trasmonte is a Parroquia and a hamlet in the province of A Coruña in the Autonomous Community of Galicia , administratively the place belongs to the municipality of Ames .
The local parish church is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary (Igrexa de Santa María de Trasmonte). After recent restoration, the building is again a good example of the baroque of rural Galicia. It rises on a rectangular base, the apses are arranged on the side. The main facade presents a niche in the manner of an altar above the portal, which offers space for a representation of the Virgin Mary and is adorned with architectural elements ( volutes and pinacles ).
The extension of the Way of St. James to Cape Finisterre , the Camino a Fisterra , leads through the village .
