action

Six years have passed since the monster worms attacked the Perfection village , Nevada . This time they strike in an oil field in Mexico , killing some workers. The owner of the oil field asks the wormhunter Earl Basset for help; Val McKee (a character from the first part) has already declined the help. When he is told about the monster worms, the Graboids (from English to grab , ' to grab ' in relation to their griffin tentacles), Earl agrees to go hunting for a fee. He is accompanied by the young adventurer Grady Hoover, who wants to become famous through hunting for graves.

On arrival in Mexico, the two meet geologist Kate Reilly, who discovers that the Graboids lived in the Precambrian . Earl and his partner are now on the hunt. In order to kill a Graboid, the two let remote-controlled toy trucks loaded with explosives drive across the ground as bait. The two thus succeed in killing one worm after the other. When a worm almost pulled them down, they call on Burt Gummer - who fought the Graboids with Earl in the first part - to help.

At first, Burt seems to be getting the situation under control; but the threat increases as the worms evolve. From each graveoid several bipeds develop, which now hunt over the earth and have infrared sensory organs . However, it is possible to outsmart and wipe out the animals one more time.

success

Tremors 2 raised $ 4.5 million within a week of its video exploitation and was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Video Premiere.

criticism

"Film sequel with a poor story, but remarkable trick effects, the focus of which is on playing with disgust and shock and in the glorification of weapons."

“Not everything that was shot for the video market in the 1990s has to be bad. The clever sequel to the hit movie 'In the Land of Rocket Worms' proves this in an amusing way. Conclusion: Funny monster hunt with great tricks "
