Tremors 4 - How it all began is the prehistory of the Tremors series. The B-movie was shot in 2004 by SS Wilson as a direct-to-DVD production .

action

The action begins in Nevada in 1889. The place where the village of Perfection is later founded is still called Rejection Valley . The Rejection miners try to make an easy living by digging for silver, as does a worker named Juan Pedilla. But suddenly the miners are killed by unknown monsters.

After the mine closes due to the deaths, people are leaving the city to relocate. Juan Pedilla tells his best friends Christine Lord, Tecopa Pyong Chang, Lu Wan, Fu Yien and Old Fred about his experience in the mine. Immediately a telegram announced that the owner of the mine would come to see it.

A day later, Hiram Gummer, Burt Gummer's great-grandfather, arrives in Rejection and listens to Juan's report on the silver mine. Tecopa tells Hiram Gummer about the Indian legend that the mountains where the silver mine is located are home to eerie monsters that are blind and yet bring death. At first Hiram shows himself to be arrogant and selfish towards the others, but then he rides with Juan to the mine, where the last of the workers are. Hiram and the others investigate the mine and find traces of a massacre, but no monsters. In the following night all of the people are suddenly attacked by larvae-like monsters, only Hiram and Juan are able to escape.

Hiram decides to get a mercenary to kill the worms. A month later, a man dressed in black named Black Hand Kelly appears. After paying a deposit, the three set off on the hunt for the worms. But soon they have to realize that the larvae monsters have "changed" drastically. They have now become giant worms (those from the first part) that move underground and hunt humans even more effectively. After Gummer has defeated the animals, he recommends shaking off the dire events with a nicer name for the village. Rejection (“rejection, rejection”) becomes the perfection known from parts 1 and 3 .

criticism

"Solid, but at best mediocre action entertainment in the Western look, which adapts the previous story cleverly to the existing parts."

“A little fun, a little action, fans of the Tremors series ('In the Land of Rocket Worms') can finally find out where the Gummer family's enthusiasm for weapons comes from. The monsters are almost hand-tame compared to the other parts. Conclusion: Nice appendix of the horror series "

Others

  • Even if the film bears the subtitle "How it all began" , it does not explain how the Graboids came into being, but only shows their first encounter with humans in 1889, 100 years before the plot of Tremors - In the Land the rocket worms .
