The Triangular Series in Bangladesh in the 2008/09 season was a three-nation tournament that was held from January 10 to 16, 2009 in Bangladesh in one-day cricket . In addition to the host, teams from Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka took part in the tournament, which was part of the 2008/09 international cricket season . In the final, Sri Lanka was able to prevail against Bangladesh with two wickets.

prehistory

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka previously contested a tour in Bangladesh against each other , Zimbabwe a tour against Sri Lanka .

format

In a preliminary round, each team played against each other once. There were four points for a win, two points for a draw or no result. Bonus points were also awarded. The first two of the group qualified for the final and played for the tournament victory.
